Arab World Heritage Forum hosts seminar promoting a culture of tolerance in media discourse

In a recent symposium held by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), in cooperation with the Bahrain National Commission for Education, Science and Culture and the Bahrain Culture and Antiquities Authority, entitled, “Promoting a culture of tolerance in media discourse” at the Arab World Heritage Center in Manama, Derasat Chairman, Dr. Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa spoke on the “Culture of Tolerance in Bahrain, Reality and Challenges”calling on all to unite to combat extremism and terrorism.

He also discussed the importance of religious discourse in the face of extremism, radicalism and the rejection of violence and hatred, pointing to the decline in investment in education to counter extremism. He concluded his speech with a historical profile of tolerance in Bahrain since its beginning up until the reform projects of His Majesty the King.
