Crown Prince receives Supreme Defence Council Secretary-general, DERASAT chairman

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today received His Excellency Lieutenant-General Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council, and His Excellency Major General Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Fadhala, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (DERASAT), at Riffa Palace.

His Royal Highness stressed the importance of scientific research and studies, which result in a more informed approach to strategic issues. His Royal Highness went on to emphasise the important role and capability of Bahraini academics and researchers within the Kingdom, particularly those who are closely associated with the Centre.

His Royal Highness extended his best wishes to His Excellency Major General Al Fadhala on his new appointment as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. His Royal Highness expressed his hope that the new Chairman of the Board of Trustees will lead DERASAT in line with the visions of His Majesty King Hamad.

His Royal Highness was briefed on the upcoming programmes and events at DERASAT, and His Royal Highness noted the importance of the Centre’s cooperation with regional and international institutions in order to further bolster its experience and strategic efforts.

His Excellency Lieutenant-General Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Excellency Major General Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Fadhala expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness and thanked him for the continuous support he provides to the Centre.
