Saudi Arabia said on Sunday (January 22, 2012), that they decided to withdraw their observers involved in the monitoring mission in Syria and called on the international community to exercise «all possible pressure» on the Syrian government to stop the violence that the United Nations says has claimed the lives of five thousand people in ten months of protests demanding an end to the rule of President Bashar al-Assad.
