Renewable Energy Forum

The Renewable Energy Forum was held in collaboration with Flensburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany and Kingdom University, from 15-17 October 2012, at the Regency Intercontinental Hotel, Bahrain. The Forum came up with recommendations towards a practical strategy for Bahrain setting out a trajectory towards greater reliance on renewable energy (green energy). The first two days of the forum comprised presentations and discussions of current developments in the technical, economic, and legislative aspects of renewable energy. The third day was dedicated to workshops that aimed to bring together the concepts and conclusions discussed and to make realistic recommendations towards promoting the use of renewable energy as a strategic energy source for Bahrain. The forum speakers were a diverse mix of academics and professionals from Bahrain, Germany, and Turkey, representing industrial, academic, and research institutes.
