Western Policies Towards the Security of the Arabian Gulf
The Arabian Gulf Security has and continues to account for the bulk of attention of western countries and organizations, given the strategic importance of the region and its geographical location, which includes a number of vital corridors for world trade, as well as being the source of world energy. The availability of oil in this region is important for these countries- despite the discoveries of shale oil in the United States. Western powers have confronted – since the British withdrawal from East of Suez and the Arabian Gulf until now – all attempts aimed at changing the balance of power in the region and pursuing several strategies that amounted to the use of military force when deemed necessary.
