March 18th, 2020

The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) will conduct a survey on the means by which citizens cope with the Novel Coronavirus (Cofid-19), and how it affected social norms and behaviors. The survey will also measure the level of public satisfaction towards governmental procedures and measures to effectively counter this global pandemic, addressing in this regard the performance of the national team to counter the outbreak and limit its spread.

The survey will be conducted by a team of the Center’s research experts, according to Derasat Chairman, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa. He revealed it will include all segments of society; all ages from both genders in all the Kingdom’s governorates, to record their remarks and expectations on how this global crisis is being managed.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla said the survey aimed to reach a statistical result, with scientific and objective parameters, for the Novel Coronavirus issue, to reveal indicators and determine the results, which can enable decision makers, to invest in positive steps, and avoid any implications that might impede the effectiveness of their efforts.

Derasat Chairman assured that the Center strives to respond to the public in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and to contribute to the pioneering national efforts in countering the spread of the Novel Coronavirus to protect the safety of the community.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla expressed his utmost appreciation and gratitude to the supreme and wise directions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to counter the Coronavirus (Cofid-19) outbreak, as part of His Majesty’s care and concern towards all that safeguards public health and the nation as a whole. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla also praised the strenuous endeavors and noble national and humanitarian efforts in this regard, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Prime Minister, in the Team Bahrain spirit.
