Memorandum of Understanding between Derasat and Tamkeen

The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tamkeen today, as part of its ongoing commitment to strengthen partnerships with various national institutions in support of the comprehensive development process of His Majesty the King, Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and its fundamental principles of promoting sustainability of the national economy, diversifying its resources and generating creative opportunities through an economy based on knowledge and technology.
The MOU was signed on Wednesday 11th of September at Tamkeen headquarters in the presence of Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Derasat Board of Trustees, Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, and Mr. Katadah Zaman, Executive Director of Derasat.
The MOU aims to enhance collaboration between Derasat and Tamkeen in support of initiatives by Bahraini researchers and to encourage them to engage in various fields of studies in order to put forth substantial reports on the achievements and roles of government institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as promote Bahrain’s position as regional and international leader in sustainable economic developement.
The memorandum also highlights: support of the production of a series of studies, researches and specialized reports, conducting polls and surveys on the labor market and the national economy, implementation of specialized training programs for the development of Bahraini researchers, and supporting events which contribute to the development of the national economy in the field of research.
On this occasion, Dr. Sh. Abdullah bin Ahmed, Chairman of Derasat’s Board of Trustees said: “In keeping with dynamic development process, any vision which contributes to the advancement of the economy must be based on solid grounds and backed by comprehensive research that provides an integrated analysis of the economic landscape and details adequate information on opportunities and challenges to be dealt with objectively in order to make informed decisions which optimize the use of resources to achieve the best end results.”
Tamkeen’s Chief Excutive Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi praised this strategic initiaitve and its outcomes in supporting efforts towards qualitiative identification of the economic development opportunities available in the labour market.
“This MoU meets Tamkeen’s objectives of enhancing productivity and sustainable growth of Bahraini talents and businesses,” he said.
“The reports and results of these researches will provide a valubale resource of market indicators and measure impact of development initiatives on the national economy.”
Mr. Katadah Abdulhameed Zaman, Executive Director of Derasat, stressed that cooperation with institutions such as Tamkeen contribute to the efforts made by our capable research team in providing comprehensive reports to the decision makers at all levels as well as enhance Derasat’s position as an influential regional think tank which contributes towards bridging the gap between research and policy practice, drivig policy decision making that is relevant and effective.
