Gulf countries are working to establish an international network of trains, complementing the internal networks adopted by large countries such as Saudi Arabia. Analysts typically speculate that the main benefit of boosting the transportation network is to transport goods to support the production chain, and perhaps also to reduce traffic congestion when people use trains instead of cars for travel. Can the transportation network be used as a means of supporting innovation and technological development as well?
