Derasat Staff Mark Tree Week by Planting Trees
As part of Tree Week and in keeping with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s continued national commitment to environmental protection and sustainability, staff of the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) took part in planting several trees at the Center’s headquarters in Awali. The initiative was attended by Derasat CEO Mr. Abdulla Mohamed Alahmed, and reflects national efforts to expand green spaces and promote environmental responsibility.
The initiative aligns with the vision and aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the emphasis placed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on fostering a culture of tree planting and encouraging community participation in environmental initiatives.
The CEO underscored that Derasat’s participation in Tree Week reflects the responsibility of research institutions to raise awareness of sustainability issues and translate knowledge into institutional and community action. Such initiatives, he noted, strengthen national efforts to protect natural resources and advance the Kingdom of Bahrain’s environmental objectives.
Derasat staff, in turn, highlighted the importance of individual and institutional action in supporting environmental initiatives, promoting the care and preservation of trees and green spaces, and reinforcing a shared sense of responsibility for environmental protection and long-term sustainability.
