Derasat Center Holds 3rd Meeting of the Scientific Research Committee on Cybersecurity

Mr. Abdulla Mohamed Alahmed, CEO of the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), held the third meeting of the Scientific Research Committee on Cybersecurity, attended by committee members representing relevant national entities, to review the committee’s 2026–2027 work plan, as part of efforts to strengthen scientific research and national cooperation in the field of cybersecurity. The committee comprises experts and representatives from the National Cyber Security Center, the University of Bahrain, the Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain Polytechnic, and the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the work plan for the Scientific Research Committee on Cybersecurity, which includes a series of “Think Talk” seminars, research papers, workshops, and opinion surveys, alongside other initiatives aimed at supporting scientific research and strengthening national capabilities in cybersecurity. Committee members also discussed their observations on the plan and its implementation mechanisms, and explored opportunities for collaboration among member institutions to enable each entity to contribute to the implementation of initiatives and research projects within its respective mandate, thereby advancing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national cybersecurity objectives.
