The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) participated in the 12th Discussion Session of the Program for Foresight of the Future Prospects of Joint GCC Economic and Development Integration, at the University of Bahrain, and hosted by the Office of the Economic and Development Affairs Authority at the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Representing Derasat, Dr. Omar Al-Ubaydli, Director of Studies and Research, and Ms. Mona AlResais, Associate Analyst, presented a paper titled “Utilizing Periodic GCC Public Opinion Surveys as a Tool to Support Economic Integration.” Dr. Al-Ubaydli and Ms. AlResais highlighted the potential value of establishing a periodic GCC Barometer to measure public attitudes toward economic integration; assess citizens’ awareness of their rights under the GCC Common Market; and provide comparable data across the six member states
