Dr. Hana Saeed Bawazir currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Banking and Finance at the College of Business Administration, University of Bahrain. She teaches a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in macroeconomics, finance, international banking, risk management, and financial markets. She held the position of Head of the Department of Economics and Finance from 2019 to 2023, during which she contributed to the development of academic plans and coordinated the university’s strategic plan and institutional budget.
She holds a PhD in Banking and Finance from the University of Southampton (UK). Her research focuses on bank liquidity, financial risk, banking regulation, and financial market issues in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. She has published in peer-reviewed academic journals and participated in international conferences specializing in finance and financial engineering. She also served as a research trainee at the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C., and was a visiting researcher and lecturer at the University of Southampton.
Alongside her academic work, Dr. Bawazir is a Board Member of the Bahrain Economic Society and has participated in national committees and professional and academic initiatives. She has delivered lectures and workshops for various entities, including educational and security institutions. Her recent work explores the role of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in supporting economic growth in GCC countries.
