Dr. Ismaeel Naji Al-Ameen

Dr. Ismaeel Al-Ameen has over two decades of experience in regulatory compliance, governance, risk management, at legal, security and diplomatic sectors. He currently serves as International Affairs and INTERPOL Director at the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and previously served, on secondment, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2020 to 2024. During his tenure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he held the role of Acting Director and served as Secretary to MOFA’s council and national committees. He contributes into the development of policies, procedures, and regulatory manuals, and was a member of institutional excellence committees, working on legal and governance matters within the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
At the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Al-Ameen held several key positions, most notably: International Affairs and INTERPOL Director, Anti-cyber crimes Director, Head of the Legal Affairs Unit at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption, Economic and Cyber Security. In these roles, he led specialized investigations into financial crimes, money laundering, and terrorism financing, worked closely with regulatory authorities and the Public Prosecution, and contributed to the development of legal frameworks supporting law enforcement operations.

PhD in Conflict Resolution – Brunel University (2016–2019)
Master of Business Administration (MBA) (with Honors) – New York Institute of Technology (2009–2012)
Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Police Sciences (with Honors) – Royal Academy of Police, Kingdom of Bahrain (2003–2007)
