Dr. Shahnawaz Khan
Dr. Shahnawaz Khan currently works as Head of Applied Research and Associate Professor at Bahrain Polytechnic. He has more than 17 years of experience in academic teaching and 7.5 years in the industrial sector, with a strong research record that includes dozens of peer-reviewed journal papers, patents, research projects, and edited academic books indexed in Scopus. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT–BHU), India. His research interests focus on artificial intelligence, natural language processing, machine learning, data science, blockchain technologies, and financial technologies.
He has led the development of doctoral and master’s programs at various academic institutions and contributed to curriculum design and review, the development of learning-outcome assessment tools, and the establishment of institutional research databases. He has also held leadership roles in strategic research planning, research budget management, organization of international conferences, and building academic partnerships with universities and research centers in the United Kingdom, Malaysia, the United States, and India.
Dr. Shahnawaz has served as a member of editorial boards of international scientific journals and as a guest editor for several peer-reviewed journals. He has been appointed as an external PhD examiner at international universities and as a member of academic accreditation teams. He has also been invited as a keynote speaker at international conferences, contributed to the establishment of technology companies and a training institute, and led teams that developed dozens of digital products for industrial and media organizations.
