The Executive Director of the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies “Derasat” Mr. Abdulla Mohammed Alahmed ,participated in the first Think Tanks Forum, organized under the title “Enhancing Strategic Partnership between Central Asia and the GCC: From Historical Connectivity to Comprehensive Cooperation,” held in the Uzbek capital Tashkent, jointly organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS) and the Gulf Research Center.
On the sidelines of the forum, he held bilateral meetings with Dr. Eldor Aripov, Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council of Uzbekistan, Executive Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS) under the President of Uzbekistan, and Ambassador Javlon Vakhabov, President of the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA), where cooperation prospects and exchange of experiences in common research fields were discussed. Dr. Abdulla Isa Alabbasi, Director of the Energy and Environment Program at the Research Studies Department, also participated in the visit.
This participation comes in the context of intellectual preparations for the second strategic dialogue summit between the GCC and Central Asian countries, scheduled to be held in early May 2025 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, following the first summit held in Jeddah in 2023, which laid the foundations for cooperation between the two sides.
