The Experts’ Bulletin summarised and discussed a new report on the impacts and use of Telemedicine in Bahrain. Published as part of Derasat’s partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bahrain to study the socio-economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the Kingdom of Bahrain, the report examines the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on people’s physical and mental well-being and highlights the benefits of using telemedicine during the pandemic. The report relied on in-depth interviews with a sample of health professionals and telemedicine users to gather qualitative evidence regarding the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on physical and mental health, on the effectiveness of telemedicine as an alternative strategy for accessing healthcare services, as well as on how the telemedicine practice could be improved for the future.
The Bulletin was presented by Dr. Fatima Alsebaei, Research Fellow at Derasat, and took place on Thursday, February 4th, 2021 via Zoom.
