Prof. Abdalmuttaleb Musleh Al-Sartawi serves as Chairperson of the Accounting, Finance & Banking Department at Ahlia University, The Kingdom of Bahrain. He holds a Senior Fellowship (SFHEA) accredited by Advance HE in the United Kingdom. Stanford University has ranked him among the top 2% of scientists globally for the years 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. In May 2024, he was awarded the Arab Inspirational Researcher Award by Abu Dhabi University.
In addition, he serves as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of E-Banking (IJeBank) published by Inderscience, and the Journal of Knowledge Management and Artificial Intelligence published by Natural Sciences Publishing. He also served as an Associate Editor of several journals, including Sustainable Finance and Investment (Taylor & Francis), the International Journal of Islamic Finance and Business Management in the Middle East (Emerald), and Discover Sustainability (Springer).
Prof. Al-Sartawi has presented and published numerous research papers in regional and international conferences and peer-reviewed journals. He serves as Chair and Editor of two international conferences: the European, Asian, Middle Eastern and North African Conference on Management and Information Systems (EAMMIS), and the International Conference on Global Economic Revolutions (ICGER). He is also a member of several editorial boards and scientific committees of refereed international journals and conferences.
Furthermore, he is an active member of a number of international professional organizations and associations, including the European Accounting Association (EAA), the Bahrain Economic Society, the Middle East Economic Association (MEEA), the International Islamic Marketing Association (IIMA), and Founding Member of the Arab Academics and Scientists Union.
Beyond his teaching experience, Prof. Al-Sartawi possesses extensive expertise in local and international quality assurance standards and academic accreditation requirements. He serves as an external quality assessor and reviewer for local and regional institutions in Bahrain, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. He is responsible for developing and implementing the Bahrain Quality Assurance (BQA) system and the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) within his department. In terms of international accreditation, he has significant experience in preparing reports in line with AACSB standards, particularly those related to Assurance of Learning and Intellectual Contributions. He also has expertise with the Omani Qualifications Framework (OQF) and the UAE National Qualifications Center (NQC). Prof. Al-Sartawi has worked closely with several international professional bodies to align his department’s programs with professional certifications, resulting in multiple exemptions and accreditations, including ACCA, CFA, CIMA, and ICAEW.
