The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (CSIS) is organizing its seventh forum entitled “Arab Research Centers for Sustainability and Development” in partnership with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States on December 22 and 23, with the participation of a select group of leading speakers from the most prominent study and research centers in the Arab world.
The title of the forum is in line with the twelfth item of the Jeddah Declaration at the conclusion of the 32nd Arab Summit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on May 19, 2023, which calls for the initiative to establish an intellectual container for research and studies in sustainability and economic development.
This also constitutes the implementation of the memorandum of cooperation signed between the Center (Studies) and the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States on organizing the forum with the aim of activating dialogue and discussion among experts and researchers in Arab think tanks on issues of sustainability and development, and formulating comprehensive development strategies.
The first session of the forum will be held under the title “Arab Think Tanks and Sustainable Development: From Knowledge to Impact,” while the second session will address the topic “Local Solutions in the Service of the Global Agenda,” and the third session will discuss “Tools of the Future – Data, Analysis, and Forecasting in the Service of Policy.”
The forum will include the launch of the center’s documentary book entitled “The Kingdom of Bahrain and the League of Arab States: 1971-2025,” a scientific document on the Kingdom of Bahrain’s honorable journey in joint Arab action under the umbrella of the League and its contributions to supporting and developing it for more than five decades.
