The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) recently issued an analytical report on the results of a national survey on organ donation in the Kingdom of Bahrain, covering a sample of 1350, with the aim of measuring and evaluating the cultural and societal acceptance about organ donation, the community's position on this humanitarian effort, and measuring opinions on the establishment of a specialized center for organ transplants and transplantation.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), stated that the results of the national survey conducted by the Center on the parliamentary and municipal elections, scheduled to be held on November 12, showed great popular keenness to participate in the democratic entitlement, and wide interaction to exercise the constitutional right to manage public affairs in light of full conviction of the transparency and integrity of the electoral process, and the availability of all the ingredients and procedures established. He pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain will witness an exceptional event that presents a successful, integrated and sustainable model for a free and responsible democratic life, and reflects the honorable civilized image of the people of Bahrain, and their keenness to protect national gains, and build on the consolidation of constitutional institutions and the rule of law.

Two research papers, jointly prepared by the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on the COVID-19 pandemic’s challenges to Bahraini women, recommended accounting for women’s diverse experiences and needs, away from a unified mold shared with men.

Derasat center launches launch its “E- Library” on the Center’s official website www.Derasat.org.bh, providing the full range of its publications from books, reports, and research, to be made available to all website visitors.

The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) hosted a discussion panel titled ‘EU-Bahrain: A Multi-Dimensional Partnership’, on Monday, 7 March 2022, to discuss further enhancing relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union. The event coincides with the first anniversary of the signing of the Cooperation Arrangement between Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European External Action Service signed on 10 February 2021, which provides an institutional framework for political dialogue and cooperation in areas such as trade, research, and innovation, clean energy, and renewables.

The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (DERASAT), the International Association for Energy Economies (IAEE) with its Saudi counterpart the (SAEE), and the King Abdulla Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) held a virtual press conference on Monday 7 February 2022 to discuss progress towards convening the 2nd IAEE MENA Symposium and the 5th Annual Derasat Forum on March 2-3 in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Derasat in partnership with the Think Tank and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) of The Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, held the 2021 edition under the theme, “Global Trends and Transitions in Think Tanks, Politics and Policy Advice in the Age of Policy Dilemmas and Disruptions”.

The proceedings of the Global Think Tank Summit, commenced on 5th of December 2021, with an opening speech by Dr. Sheikh Abdulla bin Ahmed, Chairman of Board of Trustees of Derasat.

In a bid to consolidate efforts in conducting studies and scientific research, Derasat signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bahrain Chamber.

Nasser Vocational Training Centre (NVTC) and Derasat have signed a memorandum of Understanding to enhance partnership in developing innovations in artificial intelligence (AI) and exchanging expertise.
