Bahrain Strategic, International and Energy Studies Centre (DERASAT)’s Chairman, Major-General Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Fadhala received here today Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Kiyoshi Asako.
Major-General Al-Fadhala informed the ambassador on DERASAT’s activities and events within its Five-year strategic plan.
They explored areas of cooperation between DERASAT and Japanese intellectual and research centres and ways to exchange expertise in the field of strategic studies.
They reviewed strategic dimensions of the current political developments in the Gulf region and the rapid changes in the Middle East. Major-General Al-Fadhala discussed cooperation with Japanese energy institutions and holding joint seminars to discuss the problems associated with this sector, including the difficulties faced by countries because of lower oil prices and constraints of shale oil extraction.
