His works include:
- Published anthropological studies, research papers, and reviews in several scientific periodicals. Among his known published books: Bahrain Society and Culture: Anthropological Studies (2016), Manama, An Arab City: An Anthropological Critique (2015), Economy and Society among the Bedouin of the Emirates: An Anthropological Study (2018), The Arabian Gulf: Anthropological Studies (2019), French Anthropology: History and Perspectives (2019), Land Tenure System among the Bedouin of the Emirates: An Anthropological Study (2021).
- Anthropological fieldwork (1987-1988) in the United Arab Emirates and other intermittent studies in later years.
- Anthropological fieldwork (2001-2013) in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr. Yateem holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh, UK, 1991. In 2000 H.M. the King of the Bahrain presented him the Order of Sheikh Isa bin Salman al-Khalifa, and was honored as one of the pioneers of the city of Muharraq, Kingdom of Bahrain. Currently, he serves as a member of the following board of trustees: British University of Bahrain and Yousif Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award. He also a member of the editorial boards of the following academic journals and periodicals: Annal of the Centre for Bahrain Studies, (University of Bahrain); Anthropologia Journal (Fa3iloon Center, Algeria); Almawrouth, (Sharjah Institute for Heritage).
