Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Explores Prospects for Joint Cooperation with Chatham House

His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies (Derasat), met in London with Dr. Sanam Vakil, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Program at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of cooperation and coordination to establish the foundations of dialogue and understanding, activate the role of diplomacy in conflict resolution, intensify international efforts to address cross-border challenges, and work together for the promotion of peace, stability, and support for sustainable development goals.

Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa emphasized the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to enhance cooperation and exchange of experiences with the friendly United Kingdom in various fields, including the scientific and research aspect, and the discussion of how to benefit from the role of think tanks and studies centers in building a world characterized by security and prosperity.

For her part, the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Program at Chatham House expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in enhancing regional security and promoting values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
