Virtual ThinkTalk: The Basic Principles of Small and Medium-Sized Solar Systems

Derasat recently held a virtual ThinkTalk on Wednesday April 21st, 2021,  titled, “The Basic Principles of Small and Medium-Sized Solar Systems”, presented by Eng. Saeed Balhaddad, General Manager of the Gulf Renewable Lab in Saudi Arabia and moderated by Eng. Abdualla Alabbasi, Research Fellow at Derasat.

Eng. Saeed Balhaddad

General Manager, Gulf Renewables Lab

Eng. Saeed bin Abubakar Balhaddad is a graduate of the Faculty of Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, he joined Saudi Aramco in 2007 as a project engineer and then as a maintenance engineer and later as an operations engineer, Eng. Balhaddad was appointed as General Manager of gulf renewable energy laboratory company in 2019. He holds a professional certificate of photovoltaic energy systems from the The Renewables Academy AG (RENAC) and CORe program certificate from Harvard University.

Eng. Abdulla Alabbasi

Research Fellow, Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International & Energy Studies

Abdulla Alabbasi is an Research Fellow at the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International & Energy Studies (Derasat). He obtained a BSc in Electrical Engineering from King Fahad University, Dharan, Saudi Arabia and an MSc in Renewable Energy Engineering from the University of Surrey, UK, where he is currently undertaking his PhD in Renewable Energy. Abdulla is a charted engineer with experience in power networks and is a published researcher.
