On the evening of Sunday, April 9, 2023, the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) held its annual Ramadan Ghabga at the Qal’at al-Bahrain site museum under the title “History is the Mirror of the Present”, in the presence of a number of officials, media professionals and members of the center.

Although vertical farms produce more crops per acre of soil, they use far less land and water resources as well as their ability to produce crops throughout the year. However, according to the 2021 CEA World Census report, vertical farms consume on average 38.8 kWh more energy per kilogram of products than conventional farming, which has an average energy consumption of 5.4 kWh per kg.
His Excellency Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), praised the standing relations, cooperation and friendly ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Korea, which are constantly developing in various areas, especially in industry, commerce and investment. He emphasized the Kingdom’s continuous approach to increase and advance bilateral cooperation to bring prosperity to both countries and peoples.
Derasat Center hosted Mr. Chung Hae Kwan, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Bahrain for a Think Talk titled “Optimal use of WTO dispute settlement system: The Korean experience as a model’, on Wednesday 22 March 2023, to an audience of Derasat officials and partners, with representatives of interested parties at the center’s headquarters in Al-Awali.
The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) published a bilingual study paper titled ‘Britain’s Victoria Memorial Hospital in Bahrain (1905-1948)’, by Derasat’s Executive Director Dr. Hamad Ebrahim Al-Abdulla, in which he examined the hospital’s history managed by the British Political Agency; a successful model of Bahraini-British cooperation in the first half of the twentieth century.
The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) has launched a survey aimed at measuring citizens and residents’ awareness regarding a number of genetic disorders. The survey launched sheds light on the following syndromes: Down, Marfan, and Klinefelter. The survey sample aims to collect data from all segments of society.
The book titled “Shaikh Hamad bin Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Ruler of Bahrain 1932-1942 News and Press Coverage”, by the late researcher Saqr bin Abdullah Al-Maawda constitutes a qualitative effort in portraying the achievements of the late His Majesty Sheikh Hamad bin Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, by analyzing the content of what was published by the local and foreign press about his rule in that era.
