Renewable Energy and its Impact on Raising Food Security (2-2)

Although vertical farms produce more crops per acre of soil, they use far less land and water resources as well as their ability to produce crops throughout the year. However, according to the 2021 CEA World Census report, vertical farms consume on average 38.8 kWh more energy per kilogram of products than conventional farming, which has an average energy consumption of 5.4 kWh per kg. This challenge could encourage academics, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers to study the use of renewable energy in vertical farming to produce crops three times faster than conventional farming, more efficiently and using free energy, which will increase profits when producing crops throughout the year.
