Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies (Derasat), affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Honorable, with the support and guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, continues to build strategic partnerships aimed at achieving sustainable development, enhancing international stability, and ultimately reaching a world that is more secure, peaceful, and prosperous.
This was stated during the participation of Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa in a panel discussion hosted by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change in London, the British capital, regarding the political geography in the region, in the presence of several ambassadors, prominent researchers, experts, and media.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees presented the vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain regarding establishing regional security by strengthening self-capabilities, building international alliances, and maintaining a balanced and effective stance based on an integrated strategic perspective and established principles and foundations.
Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa warned of the serious repercussions resulting from the escalation of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, especially the worsening humanitarian conditions and the threat to the lives of innocent civilians, as continued violence would lead to further cycles of violence and undermine the prospects for peace.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees also discussed the importance of the role played by the “Derasat” Center in promoting international understanding, in addition to providing advice to spread a culture of peace, coexistence, and governance within open and prosperous societies. He expressed the center’s readiness to strengthen ties with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change to discuss and propose appropriate solutions for the geopolitical challenges facing the Middle East and establish a close partnership between both sides for research exchange and knowledge integration.
