Roundtable on “Arabian Gulf Security and the Role of the European Union”

The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) hosted a roundtable to discuss “Arabian Gulf Security and the Role of the European Union”, on Thursday 12 May 2022. His Excellency Ambassador Patrick Simonnet, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Sultanate of Oman, joined several EU country ambassadors to Bahrain, and His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Ebrahim Al-Qarainees, Chief of European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with several MoFA staff and Derasat researchers.

Discussions covered means to enhance Gulf-EU relations, including political dialog, security, foreign policy, trade, investment, development, energy, countering terrorism, supporting security and stability, opportunities to enhance cooperation, and further developing common interests.
