Implications of Sending an Iranian Warship to the Red Sea
On January 1, 2024, Iranian media reported that Iran had dispatched a destroyer and a warship towards the Red Sea to be present near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The destroyer, named ‘Alborz,’ is equipped with long-range naval cruise missiles and is part of the 94th naval group affiliated with the Iranian Navy.
