Potential Environmental Threat Posed by Safer Oil Tanker
The ongoing threat posed by the Safer oil tanker anchored about 60 km north of Hudaydah, is a serious indication of a new security threat to maritime navigation in the Red Sea. The tanker has received almost no maintenance since the beginning of the conflict in Yemen in 2015 which leaves the tanker at risk of leaking or exploding.
