Reading in the Comparison between the myths of Promrtheus and Gilgamesh

As part of its “Think Talk” series, Derasat Center held a lecture titled ‘A Comparison between the Legends of Gilgamesh and Prometheus’, presented by Dr. Hamad Ebrahim Al-Abdulla, Executive Director, on Tuesday 16 May2023 at the Center’s headquarters in Awali. The lecture was attended by several experts in this field and students currently attending ancient history courses at the University of Bahrain.

The lecture shed light on the Sumerian myth of Gilgamesh and the Greek myth of Prometheus. Important milestones in both myths were highlighted and how both narratives developed over time. Similarities and differences between both legends were also showcased in the Think Talk.
