The Reality of Artificial Intelligence Research in the GCC
Despite a growing interest in artificial intelligence among GCC countries in recent years, research and development activities remain modest and limited. This article suggests that the situation can be improved by investing in research projects and refining links between research, academic, and local institutions. Optimising the utilisation of artificial intelligence will enable governments to contribute to their national development priorities and keep pace with scientific and international developments.
