Saudi Arabia hosted the world’s first Global Cybersecurity Forum (GCF) that aimed to address the threats, challenges, risks and cyber opportunities in order to “build a secure, resilient and prosperous cyber world for all”. Dr Ashraf Keshk looks into the proceedings of the conference and at the vital role cyber defence needs to countering future security risks.
Preparations are now in full swing for the Middle East Military Technology Conference (MEMTEC) being held alongside the Bahrain International Defence Exhibition from October 29th – 30th, 2019. Sessions will discuss matters such as the current status and future of military technology, cyber defence strategies, the impact of artificial intelligence on the functions of armed forces, the use of military technology to develop simulation models of war, the impact of military technology on regional conflicts, and the future of military industries in Middle East. MEMTEC aims to showcase how global developments and advancements in the defence sector will reshape conflicts in the Middle East.
