Think Talk on Iranian Asymmetric Warfare

The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) held a lecture as part of its “Think Talks” series, titled “Between Martyrdom and Deterrence: Iran’s Asymmetrical Warfare”, presented by Dr. Mitchell Belfer, President of the Euro-Gulf Information Center in Rome, where he spoke of the implications following the assassination of Quds Force leader Qassim Soleimani in a US strike early this year.

The lecture was attended by officials, diplomats, researchers, and government representatives. Dr. Belfer presented his views regarding the moral blow to the Iranian regime having lost the Supreme Leader’s top aide, as well as the shaken confidence within the ranks of of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps due to the exposed location of Soleimani. He also mentioned that Iran is likely planning for a future retaliation.

(Derasat) is keen on examining current issues by hosting knowledgeable experts, and connecting them with a distinguished audience to exchange views, aiming to develop a national-level research community.
