Derasat Chairman Gives Lecture at South Korea's Institute of Foreign Affairs

Seoul, Apr. 1 (BNA): Board of Trustees Chairman of Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, affirmed the significance of boosting intellectual partnerships to create an international research community characterized by effectiveness and governance and capable of promoting international peace.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah was speaking in a lecture delivered at the Institute of Foreign Affairs, National Security and Energy in the South Korean capital, Seoul, on the sidelines of a visit by Derasat delegation to a number of think-tanks in South Korea.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa commended the distinguished historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and South Korea and their perpetual growth in various fields. He reviewed the main fundamentals of Bahrain’s foreign policy as a country advocating peace, tolerance and coexistence. He also underlined the kingdom’s efforts to foster regional and global stability, pointing out the importance of regional coalitions in promoting the collective security system, facing challenges and countering terrorism.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah called for synergized efforts of think-tanks in the world to promote international peace and work out realistic solutions and approaches to existing crises.

A cooperation agreement was signed by Derasat and the Institute of Foreign Affairs, National Security and Energy to support scientific research, exchange expertise and organize joint events.

The delegation of Derasat got informed about the institute’s activities and met a group of senior researchers.

It’s worth noting that the delegation, headed by Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, also comprises Derasat Executive Director, Dr. Hamad Ibrahim Al Abdullah, and Studies and Research Director, Dr. Omar Abidli.
