Although there have been some changes within states and in power relations between states, Dr. Ahsraf Keshk would argue we are still living in a unipolar international system – although increasingly challenged by crises such as the pandemic and fluctuating security concerns around the world.

The Kingdom of Bahrain has implemented the necessary procedures required to protect the safety and security of citizens and residents, and raise the level of caution and prevention for individuals, through a national campaign to counter the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus.
Therefore, Derasat Center will conduct a special survey around the management of this crisis; measuring the extent of impact on citizens and residents regarding the public and private national responsibility to deal with the implications of this pandemic, and assessing the governmental procedures implemented in this regard.
Preparations are now in full swing for the Middle East Military Technology Conference (MEMTEC) being held alongside the Bahrain International Defence Exhibition from October 29th – 30th, 2019. Sessions will discuss matters such as the current status and future of military technology, cyber defence strategies, the impact of artificial intelligence on the functions of armed forces, the use of military technology to develop simulation models of war, the impact of military technology on regional conflicts, and the future of military industries in Middle East. MEMTEC aims to showcase how global developments and advancements in the defence sector will reshape conflicts in the Middle East.
