Derasat Center hosts the second Bahraini-Omani Forum

The “Second Bahraini-Omani Forum entitled ” Challenges of Food Security and Mechanisms of Bilateral Cooperation to Address Them” was hosted by the Bahrain Center for Strategic and International Energy Studies “Derasat”, on Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Center’s headquarters in Awali.

The one-day workshop consisted of  three sessions and the participants  discussed  on “The foundations and elements of achieving food security in the two countries.” in the first session.  The second session covered “The experience of the two brotherly countries in facing food security challenges.” The third and final session dealt with “Mechanisms of cooperation to face food security challenges”, with the aim of crystallizing practical visions to face this challenge based on the available resources of the two countries, and their ambitious plans in light of a rapidly changing regional and global reality.

The workshop was well attended by several officials and economic figures in the region, experts in the field of Food security, academics from the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain, in addition to  the presence of His Excellency Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Sultanate of Oman, and His Excellency Sayyid Faisal bin Harib Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
