Workshop: Regional Security perspectives in the Gulf Region

The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies “Derasat” organized a workshop entitled “Regional Security Perspectives in the Gulf Region”, in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Derasat Center in Awali.

Participants in the workshop discussed the risks that the region faces, including irregular wars, the rapid expansion of transnational risks like terrorism and organized crime, and the steps that the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States countries have taken to strengthen their unity and cohesion and to follow a security strategy commensurate with the scope of the threats they currently face and will face in the future.

The workshop was attended by a group of representatives of ministries and institutions from the Arab Gulf countries, in addition to several Think Tanks and research centers in the region.
